NEW DELHI: Nasscom, telecom operators, and NITI Aayog have come together in creating a dedicated helpline - 14444 - for addressing all queries on digitial payments, as government takes strides to push for more digital transactions post demonetisation. After the fourth meeting of the Committee of Chief Ministers on digital payments, Convenor and Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu said, plans are afoot to import one million PoS machines to enable cashless payments across India. NITI Aayog Vice-Chairman Arvind Panagariya said IT industry body Nasscom, telephone operators and the government thinktank are creating the helpline to address all queries of public regarding digital payments. The helpline number would be made operational soon. New Delhi: After its strong entry into the 4G telecom space with free data offer, Reliance Jio is all geared up to offer good news to its 3G customers as well.As per reports, Reliance Jio 4G offer can be used by the 3G customers too. Reportedly Reliance is going to launch a new app by the end of this month, using which 3G customers can easily use the Jio 4G services.Notably, Reliance Jio SIM can currently be used only for 4G enabled smartphones. Some media reorts say that from January 1, 3G customers can avail the benefit of Reliance Jio Happy New Year Offer.Reliance Industries Limited’s Chairman and Managing Director Mukesh Ambani on December announced to extend the Reliance Jio Welcome offer till March 2017 in which customers will get free voice calls and roaming services, while data is being charged at one-tenth of the prevailing market rates.

Hit by competition from Reliance Jio, Bharti Airtel, India’s largest telecom company, is offering a whopping 6 GB of 4G data for Rs 147 with a validity of 28 days. The offer is being rolled out only to prepaid users, and can be seen only in the ‘only for you’ deals section of Airtel’s recharge app or website. As it is a targeted offer, it may not be available to new customers. The regular price of the 6 GB pack is in the range of Rs 800 per month, and the offer represents a discount of nearly 80%. The move is a response to the Happy New Year offer by Reliance Jio, which gives 1 GB of 4G data free per day. All major operators, including Bharti Airtel, Idea Cellular and Vodafone, are expected to be feeling major pain due to the ongoing free service from Jio.
